If you’re planning a trip to Lisbon and looking for a comfortable hotel with a rooftop pool (because trust me, Lisbon gets HOT during the summer!), then let me introduce you to Jupiter Lisboa Hotel. I stayed here for 5 nights and here’s exactly what you can expect.

First Impressions & Location

I’ll admit, at first I was a little worried about the location. On the map, Jupiter Lisboa looked a bit far from the historic center, and I wasn’t sure how convenient it would be. But when we got there, I realized I had worried for nothing.

Right outside the hotel door there is a metro stop and there’s bus stops nearby, and just 8 minutes down the road another metro line that takes you directly to the airport. We actually took the metro straight from the airport and only had to walk a few minutes with our luggage, super easy!

Getting into the center took about 30 minutes with a quick changeover, but Lisbon’s metro is really simple and cheap, so it never felt like a hassle. Plus, Bolt rides (like Uber) are very affordable in Lisbon if you don’t feel like taking public transport.

The biggest surprise? I actually ended up preferring the location. The neighborhood is flat and quiet, unlike the hilly city center where you’re dragging your suitcase up cobbled streets. At the same time, it felt safe, even coming back late at night after a sunset boat ride… or sneaking out for a McFlurry at midnight.

Our Room

We booked a Standard Twin Room (we requested two separate beds in advance) for €668 (without tourist and city tax, which I believe was about €40) for 5 nights for two people. We had booked around 6 months early, which definitely helped with the price.

The room itself was such a nice surprise; spacious, modern, and spotless. Housekeeping came every day and really did a great job! The bathroom was huge! Big enough for us two girls to do our makeup together each morning, so getting ready didn’t take hours. If you know you know.

Inside we had:

  • A big wardrobe (perfect for two people sharing)
  • A mini fridge
  • Tea/coffee station with a kettle (always a win!)
  • A TV
  • And a bathroom with a really good shower

It felt like everything was new and well taken care of, which made coming “home” after long days of sightseeing so much nicer.

Rooftop Bar & Drinks

We didn’t book breakfast and didn’t try the main restaurant, but we did have food at the rooftop bar on the night we arrived. I ordered a flatbread with mozzarella, tomato, rocket, and pesto. It wasn’t mind-blowing, but it was tasty and just what I needed after a day of traveling.

The cocktails were around €12 each. A little pricey, yes, but honestly about the same as rooftop bars back home in the Netherlands, so I wasn’t shocked. During the trip, we also had drinks by the pool a few times, and it was such a treat to have them delivered right to our sunbeds!

The Rooftop Pools (My Favorite Bit!)

Okay, this is the real reason I chose Jupiter Lisboa: the rooftop pools. And let me tell you… they did not disappoint.

There are actually two pools up there:

  • A large pool for swimming and cooling off
  • A much shallower, smaller pool (unofficially the “kiddy pool” during the day, but hey, we all dipped our toes in at night)

The rooftop itself is beautiful, plenty of sunbeds, amazing views over Lisbon, and very clean. You can order food and drinks right to your lounger and just relax all afternoon. After long mornings of walking around the city in (38 dergee heat, OOF), it was the perfect place to unwind.

Honestly, the pool was the main reason I booked this hotel, and I don’t regret it for a second! In Lisbon’s summer heat, having that pool to escape to was worth every cent!

Price Breakdown: Was It Worth It?

For €668 for 5 nights for two people, I’d say yes, 100%. Between the comfortable room, the pool, the helpful staff, and the super easy transport links, I felt like we got a really good deal. Lisbon can be exhausting with the hills and the heat, and staying somewhere a little quieter but still well connected, turned out to be a blessing.

So would I stay at Jupiter Lisboa Hotel again? Absolutely.

  • The staff were all so kind and helpful (from reception to the rooftop bar).
  • The room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed.
  • The pool area was just dreamy and made the whole Lisbon trip feel like a holiday, not just a city break.
  • And even though it’s not right in the historic center, I honestly ended up preferring the quieter location.

If you’re heading to Lisbon and want a hotel with a pool, comfort, and easy metro access, I can totally recommend Jupiter Lisboa Hotel. It made our trip so much more enjoyable!
