The ferry ride is quick (just 8 minutes from Manhattan!) and totally worth it for the views and peaceful vibes🛥️ On my last trip to NYC in August, I spent a summer day biking around the island on a Citi Bike, soaking in the historic buildings, and enjoying the breezes and sun🚴‍♀️🌞

It’s also a great spot to visit with kids! 🏰Explored Edinburgh Castle & The Palace of Holyroodhouse for a deep dive into Scottish history.
🏛️Wandered through the National Museum of Scotland. Free entry and family-friendly!
🌈Strolled along Victoria Street & Cockburn Street, visiting the cutest shops.
🪦Walked through the atmospheric Greyfriars Kirkyard. One of Edinburgh’s most historic (and haunted!) cemeteries. It's also home to some Harry Potter name inspirations!
⛪Stepped inside the stunning St Giles’ Cathedral. A true Gothic masterpiece!
🌄Hiked up Calton Hill for breathtaking views and the National Monument of Scotland.
📚Saw Edinburgh University Old College Quad, where the main characters from the Netflix series One Day meet!
📖Admired the iconic Scott Monument, a must-see for literature lovers.

This time, I had their (vegetarian🌱) chicken cheese pesto bagel🥯, while my friend went for the Funky Monkey (yes, they were as fun as they sound!)🍌🥞 I also tried their iced chai latte for the first time, and let me tell you - SO good! They do the best chai lattes!🤤☕

Back in December 2023, I hopped on the @dfdsnederland ferry with my family for a little post-Christmas adventure to Newcastle!🚢 We had a cozy bunk with classic ferry bunk beds, stuffed ourselves at the buffet (because who says no to a buffet with unlimited food?!), and sailed into the city ready to explore🍴🛥🌊

Newcastle greeted us with festive vibes, chilly air, a bit of rain and the perfect timing - right after Boxing Day sales! 🛍️🌧 Eldon Square was a dream for shopping deals, and walking across the High Level Bridge gave us stunning views of Tyne Bridge and the city. But the real highlight? The food! We had an amazing meal at @mydelhistreetery 😋 Seriously, if you love Indian street food, this place is a must!🍛🔥

Of course, we couldn’t visit without stopping by Newcastle Castle, because how often do you get to see the castle that gave a city its name?🏰 Plus, wandering around the university campus made me wish I could be a student there just to soak in the historic vibes🤓📚
