The Walker Art Gallery is officially one of the prettiest museums I’ve visited in Liverpool so far! 😍 From the gorgeous architecture to the beautiful art collections inside, this place is such a lovely spot to explore.

🖼️ What to see inside: The gallery is home to an impressive collection spanning centuries, including paintings, sculptures and decorative art. Don’t miss the historic European paintings, the Pre-Raphaelite works and the British art collection, with pieces by artists such as Rembrandt, Rubens and Rossetti. There’s also a fantastic collection of sculptures and regularly changing exhibitions, so there’s usually something new to discover.

My tip: If you’ve already ticked off the Beatles attractions (or they’re not really your thing), add this one to your itinerary! It’s perfect if you love wandering around beautiful buildings, admiring art and discovering somewhere a little different. Allow around an hour or two to explore properly, and check the gallery’s website for current exhibitions before you visit.

And even better? Entry to the gallery is free! So it’s a great option if you’re exploring Liverpool on a budget💸

🍔 Is Mollie's Diner worth the extra money? Honestly… I think so!👀

Mollie’s Diner is part of @mollies_manchester, a stylish hotel set inside the former Old Granada Studios in the heart of the city. The diner has that classic American roadside-diner inspiration, but with a much more modern feel.

This is a little more expensive than the places I’d usually share here, but sometimes you find somewhere that’s just worth the splurge and Mollie’s was definitely that for me🙌

I loved the elevated American diner vibe. It’s super stylish and a little fancy, but somehow still feels really cosy and relaxed.

We went for burgers and shared some mac & cheese, and my veggie burger was SO good🤤 The meat substitute was honestly the star of the show for me, you can tell it’s a more premium option because the quality and flavours were🤌🏼

The staff were also super friendly and attentive, which always makes a good meal even better. And we didn’t have a reservation when we went, so we were lucky enough to get a table!

So yes, it’s a little pricier, but if you’re looking to treat yourself to a really good meal in Manchester, I’d say Mollie’s is worth adding to your list.

Welcome to Manchester’s Gay Village!🌈

Centred around Canal Street, Manchester’s Gay Village is one of the city’s most recognisable LGBTQ+ neighbourhoods, with colourful bars, restaurants and businesses lining the Rochdale Canal.

But there’s more to the area than just a night out! 👀

🌈 Canal Street: Take a wander along the canal and explore the colourful heart of the Gay Village, with plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants along the way.

🌳 Sackville Gardens: Just a short walk away, this little green space is home to the Alan Turing statue. Turing was a mathematician, computer scientist and codebreaker who played an important role in the development of modern computing, and his connection to Manchester and experiences as a gay man make this an important part of the city’s LGBTQ+ history.

So if you’re exploring Manchester, don’t just walk through the Gay Village, take some time to appreciate the history and stories that make this part of the city so special💕🏳️‍🌈

Hidden in the Northern Quarter, Afflecks is a three-floor maze of independent shops, with over 60 traders selling everything from vintage and alternative fashion to jewellery, art, gifts and plenty of wonderfully weird finds.

It’s honestly one of those places where you can wander around for hours and still discover something new. Some of my favourites were Luna, Panic Posters, Animals Cafe, Dotty Poppy, Sour Cherry and The Manchester Shop and yes, I definitely left with a few things!😂

If you love independent shops and finding things you won’t see everywhere else, don’t skip Afflecks when you’re in Manchester!

🏨 Looking for a budget-friendly place to stay in Manchester? 🇬🇧

I stayed at @moxymcr and honestly, it had everything I needed for a city break without breaking the bank😍

📍 Great location: The hotel is in Spinningfields, a lively area filled with restaurants, bars and modern architecture. It’s also within walking distance of loads of Manchester’s main attractions, so I barely needed public transport while exploring the city.
🚆 Easy transport: Deansgate train station is nearby, making it easy to get around Manchester and travel to and from the airport.
🛏️ Comfy rooms: The rooms are modern and comfortable, with a super comfy bed and a lovely shower. Housekeeping also did an awesome job throughout my stay! My only little complaint, which is pretty typical for Moxy, is that there isn’t much space to store your clothes or luggage. There’s no wardrobe, just a few hangers, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing a lot of stuff.
🍹 Welcome drink: You get a welcome cocktail when you check in, and the lobby is designed to be a really social space. You can grab your drink, play a game, relax and hang out. There’s even a photo booth!
✨ The vibe: If you’ve stayed at a Moxy before, you’ll know what to expect: playful, modern and relaxed, with plenty of space to socialise downstairs.

And of course, the staff were lovely and made the whole stay really enjoyable🫶

Overall, I had such a great stay here! If you’re looking for somewhere comfortable, well-located and budget-friendly for a Manchester city break, Moxy definitely has everything you need.

A bit of a hidden gem for vintage lovers! Although I’m sure it’s not much of a secret to Maastricht locals anymore! You’ll find racks of vintage clothing, accessories, and SO many unique finds that you won’t come across in your average high-street shop.

And if you’re into western style…🤠
Their cowboy boot collection is INSANE👢 Seriously, there are so many pairs to choose from!

Prices are pretty reasonable and in line with what you’d expect from vintage shops around Maastricht, so it’s definitely worth having a browse if you’re in the city and love finding something a little different.

A Valencia travel tip you’ll want to add to your itinerary⬇️⛪️

If you’re visiting Valencia, don’t just admire the Cathedral from the outside - go inside! The building has centuries of history packed into it, with a mix of Gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. You can also see the famous Holy Chalice, beautiful Renaissance frescoes and a whole collection of historic artwork in the cathedral museum.

🎧 My biggest tip: get the audio guide. It’s included with admission and takes you through the cathedral’s chapels, artwork and history, making the whole visit feel much more immersive. We ended up spending well over an hour here because there was so much more to see than we expected!

And if you’re feeling energetic, you can climb Miguelete, the cathedral’s famous bell tower, for an extra fee. We skipped the hundreds of steps (😂) and saved our legs for exploring the rest of Valencia - plus, our hotel had a rooftop with panoramic views anyway!😏

If you’re spending some time in Manchester, add @_makersmarket to your list!

The Makers Market brings together independent makers, artists, food producers and small businesses, so there’s always loads of unique things to browse. I honestly love stumbling across markets like this when travelling because you get to discover so many local businesses in one place. And it’s a fun way to spend a few hours without needing a whole itinerary.

They have markets at different locations across the North West, so if you’re travelling around the area, it’s worth checking their website to see where they’re popping up while you’re there!

And obviously… I couldn’t leave without buying something 👀

I picked up a cute book sleeve, which I’m actually using for my Kindle too! It’s perfect for keeping it protected in my backpack when I’m travelling. And because apparently one purchase wasn’t enough, I also got a cookie🍪 Priorities😋

@pieceofcakemaastricht had been on my "I really need to go there someday" list for YEARS. When I was studying in Maastricht, I used to pass this little café almost every day on the bus and would always look out the window thinking I needed to visit... and now that I finally have, I completely understand the hype🥹

The interior alone stole my heart. Think chandeliers, fresh flowers, vintage-inspired furniture and the cosiest atmosphere. It somehow feels like a little English tea room mixed with a Parisian café, and honestly, I could sit here for hours🫖🌸

I ordered their Tea Party for €13, which came with a cupcake of your choice🧁, two scones with jam & clotted cream, plus tea or coffee☕. Such a good deal for Maastricht!

Perfect for a catch-up with friends, a cute afternoon date or simply treating yourself after a day exploring the city!

⛪️Am I the only one who can't resist wandering into beautiful churches while travelling?

No matter what city I'm visiting, I always end up stepping inside a church "just for a quick look"... Saint Peter's Church in Leuven was no exception.

Located right on the city's main square, this stunning Gothic church has been welcoming visitors for centuries. Inside, you'll find soaring ceilings, beautiful stained-glass windows, intricate details and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, making it the perfect place to take a break from the busy streets outside.

📖 Little history lesson: Saint Peter's Church has stood at the heart of Leuven since the 15th century and is one of Belgium's finest examples of Brabant Gothic architecture. It's also home to several remarkable works of art, including The Last Supper by the famous Flemish painter Dirk Bouts, making it an important cultural landmark for the city.

The best part? Entry is completely free, so it's an easy stop to add while exploring Leuven's historic centre. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or simply enjoy admiring beautiful buildings, I'd definitely recommend popping inside.

This might just be the cutest shop in Leuven... and I wanted to buy everything!🤭

I stumbled into @animauxspeciaux while exploring Leuven, and it instantly became one of my favourite shops in the city🤩

Think shelves filled with unique gifts, beautiful stationery, home décor, cute little trinkets and all sorts of curiosities you won't find everywhere else. It's one of those shops where you keep spotting something new every few seconds.

My personal favourites? The adorable funky keychains, gorgeous bookmarks, scented candles and the beautiful tarot card sets🕯️🔮📚

And if you think the shop couldn't get any cuter... make sure to wander out to the little plant garden at the back🌿 Such a lovely hidden corner!

Whether you're looking for a souvenir, a gift, or simply love browsing independent boutiques, this is definitely one to add to your Leuven itinerary.

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know I can never resist a botanical garden...🌱 So of course I had to visit Kruidtuin Leuven, Belgium's oldest botanical garden.

Located just a short walk from Leuven's city centre, this peaceful oasis is the perfect escape from the busy shopping streets. Wander through colourful flower beds🪻, discover plants from all over the world, and don't miss the beautiful tropical greenhouses🌴 They were definitely my favourite part!

The best part? Entry is completely free, making it one of the best budget-friendly activities in Leuven.

Whether you're a fellow plant lover, or simply want a quiet place to unwind for an hour, I'd definitely recommend adding the Kruidtuin to your Leuven itinerary. Especially if you're visiting in spring or now during summer when everything is in bloom🌸☀️

🏛️ Skip the crowds... this might be London's most underrated FREE museum👀

While thousands of tourists head straight for the British Museum or the Natural History Museum, Sir John Soane's Museum remains one of London's best-kept secrets!

Tucked away in Holborn, this former home of renowned architect Sir John Soane feels less like a museum and more like stepping into someone else's fascinating world. Every room is packed from floor to ceiling with art, architectural models, ancient sculptures, paintings, rare books, and quirky treasures collected over 200 years ago🖼️🏺📜

One of the things I loved most? You never quite know what you'll discover around the next corner. The narrow hallways and hidden rooms make the whole place feel like a maze, and there's always another little detail waiting to catch your eye.

💸 Entry is completely free, although we picked up the optional £3 guidebook, which I'd definitely recommend if you want to learn more about the collection and the stories behind it.

💡 My tip: The museum is quite small, so only a limited number of visitors are allowed inside at a time. Queues can build up quickly, especially later in the day. We arrived just before opening and only had a short wait, so I'd definitely recommend doing the same if you want to make the most of your visit.

If you're looking for a unique museum that most visitors miss, this is absolutely one to add to your London itinerary.
